Shirin Fozdar Scholarship

Established in 2016 as one of the key initiatives of the Shirin Fozdar Programme, the Scholarship is available to full-time female undergraduates at the Singapore Management University. The objective of the Scholarship is to recognise outstanding female undergraduates of foreign nationalities and to support them in their education at the University.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Full-time female foreign undergraduates enrolled in any degree programme
  • Good academic results
  • Demonstrated financial needs (gross monthly household per capita income not exceeding $1,900)
  • Demonstrated leadership potential
  • Active CCA and/or community service involvement

Shortlisted applicants will be required to submit a written statement and a 1-minute video clip on why she should be awarded the scholarship. 

Quota

2 will be awarded annually between Academic Years 2016-17 and 2020-21

Tenure and Benefits
  • Each award is valued at $15,000 and tenable for the recipient’s one year of study
  • The award will offer financial support towards the recipient’s annual subsidised tuition fee.  The recipient may be in concurrent receipt of a bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria
  • The recipients are strongly encouraged to be involved in community service activities under the SFP, facilitated through the Centre for Social Responsibility

Tuition Grant Scheme
  • The recipient is required to take advantage of the Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS) provided by the Singapore Government for subsidised education
  • Under the TGS, non-Singaporean recipient (including Singapore Permanent Resident) is required to sign a TG agreement and will be contractually obliged to work in Singapore-based companies for a minimum period of three (3) years upon graduation
